Cortes do Tua Wines arises from the cross between trigenary vineyards of the Tua valley and the hand of two young winemakers Ana de Almeida and Duarte da Costa.
The passion for wine, international experience and the wine-making tradition of the Douro united these two young people in the production of harmonious, balanced and elegant wines.
Located on the left bank of the River Tua, in the Douro Superior sub-region, in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region, vines in an integrated production system enjoy an excellent sun exposure – south and west. They benefit from hot and dry winds, leading to faster maturation and higher quality musts. The Mediterranean-type microclimate is made with very hot summers and very cold winters, giving rise to concentrated, textured and varied wines, as only this region can offer.
